David at Nob
1. Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?
1. David se rendit à Nob, vers le sacrificateur Achimélec, qui accourut effrayé au-devant de lui et lui dit: Pourquoi es-tu seul et n`y a-t-il personne avec toi?
1. "Ary Davida tonga tany Noba tany amin' i Ahimeleka mpisorona; ary toran-kovitra Ahimeleka, raha nihaona tamin' i Davida, ka nanao taminy hoe: Nahoana no mandeha irery ianao, fa tsy misy manaraka anao?"
2. And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place.
2. David répondit au sacrificateur Achimélec: Le roi m`a donné un ordre et m`a dit: Que personne ne sache rien de l`affaire pour laquelle je t`envoie et de l`ordre que je t`ai donné. J`ai fixé un rendez-vous à mes gens.
2. "Dia hoy Davida tamin' i Ahimeleka mpisorona: Ny mpanjaka efa nanome raharaha ahy, ka hoy izy tamiko: Aoka tsy ho fantatr' olona ny raharaha nanirahako sy nandidiako anao; ka dia nasaiko nankary ny zatovoko."
3. Now therefore what is under thine hand? give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present.
3. Maintenant qu`as-tu sous la main? Donne-moi cinq pains, ou ce qui se trouvera.
3. Koa inona no misy ato aminao? Omeo mofo dimy aho ho ety an-tanako, na izay misy.
4. And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.
4. "Le sacrificateur répondit à David: Je n`ai pas de pain ordinaire sous la main, mais il y a du pain consacré; si du moins tes gens se sont abstenus de femmes!"

5. And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel.
5. David répondit au sacrificateur: Nous nous sommes abstenus de femmes depuis trois jours que je suis parti, et tous mes gens sont purs: d`ailleurs, si c`est là un acte profane, il sera certainement aujourd`hui sanctifié par celui qui en sera l`instrument.
5. "Ary Davida namaly ny mpisorona ka nanao taminy hoe: eny, fa hatramin' ny hateloana no efa tsy niara-nitoetra tamim-behivavy izahay; ary tamin' izaho niainga dia masina ny fanaky ny zatovo, ary ny mofo dia zavatra ho an' ny rehetra, eny, hamasinina izy anio noho ny fanaka."
6. So the priest gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.
6. Alors le sacrificateur lui donna du pain consacré, car il n`y avait là d`autre pain que du pain de proposition, qu`on avait ôté de devant l`Éternel pour le remplacer par du pain chaud au moment où on l`avait pris.
6. "Ary ny mpisorona nanome azy mofo masina; fa tsy nisy mofo teo, afa-tsy ny mofo aseho, izay nalainy teo anatrehan' i Jehovah, mba hasiana mofo mafana tamin' ny andro nanesorana azy."
7. Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chiefest of the herdmen that belonged to Saul.
7. "Là, ce même jour, un homme d`entre les serviteurs de Saül se trouvait enfermé devant l`Éternel; c`était un Édomite, nommé Doëg, chef des bergers de Saül."
7. Nefa nisy anankiray tamin' ny mpanompon' i Saoly teo tamin' izany andro izany, voahazona teo anatrehan' i Jehovah, Doega Edomita no anarany, lehiben' ny mpiandry ombin' i Saoly izy.
8. And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king's business required haste.
8. David dit à Achimélec: N`as-tu pas sous la main une lance ou une épée? car je n`ai pris avec moi ni mon épée ni mes armes, parce que l`ordre du roi était pressant.
8. Ary hoy Davida tamin' i Ahimeleka: Tsy misy lefona na sabatra va eto aminao? fa izaho tsy nitondra ny sabatro, na ny fiadiako ety amiko, satria nahamaika ny raharahan' ny mpanjaka.
9. And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me.
9. "Le sacrificateur répondit: Voici l`épée de Goliath, le Philistin, que tu as tué dans la vallée des térébinthes; elle est enveloppée dans un drap, derrière l`éphod; si tu veux la prendre, prends-la, car il n`y en a pas d`autre ici. Et David dit: Il n`y en a point de pareille; donne-la-moi."
9. "Fa hoy ny mpisorona: Ny sabatr' i Goliata Filistina, ilay novonoinao tao amin' ny lohasaha Elaha, indro, fa mifono lamba ao ivohon' ny efoda izy; ka raha iny no hoentinao, dia ento; fa tsy misy afa-tsy iny eto. Ary hoy Davida: Tsy misy tahaka iny, fa omeo ahy."
David at Gath
10. And David arose, and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath.
10. David se leva et s`enfuit le même jour loin de Saül. Il arriva chez Akisch, roi de Gath.
10. Ary Davida niainga nandositra tamin' izany andro izany noho ny tahotra an' i Saoly, dia nankany amin' i Akisy, mpanjakan' i Gata.
11. And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
11. Les serviteurs d`Akisch lui dirent: N`est-ce pas là David, roi du pays? n`est-ce pas celui pour qui l`on chantait en dansant: Saül a frappé ses mille, -Et David ses dix mille?
11. "Ary hoy ny mpanompon' i akisy taminy: Tsy ity moa no Davida, mpanjakan' ny tany? Tsy izy va no nandihizany sy nifampihirany hoe: Saoly nahafaty ny arivoarivony; fa Davida ny alinaliny?"
12. And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath.
12. David prit à coeur ces paroles, et il eut une grande crainte d`Akisch, roi de Gath.

13. And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.
13. "Il se montra comme fou à leurs yeux, et fit devant eux des extravagances; il faisait des marques sur les battants des portes, et il laissait couler sa salive sur sa barbe."

14. Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me?
14. "Akisch dit à ses serviteurs: Vous voyez bien que cet homme a perdu la raison; pourquoi me l`amenez-vous?"
14. Ary hoy Akisy tamin' ny mpanompony: He! hitanareo fa very saina io lehilahy io, ka nahoana no nentinareo ety amiko izy?
15. Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?
15. Est-ce que je manque de fous, pour que vous m`ameniez celui-ci et me rendiez témoin de ses extravagances? Faut-il qu`il entre dans ma maison?
